The Metrix Group Design Studio Process

We always believe that any design concept will change during development, and that’s why we need a strong conceptual foundation before the completion.

 

  1. Enquiry

The client contacts Metrix Group for assistance with their project budget, design intent (what they want), product types, project sizes, locations, and specific design requirements (how they want to be designed).

  1. Engagement

    Our architectural specialist will showcase his expertise by providing a detailed plan for the project involving both structural and electrical engineers.
  2. Design Brief

    As part of our ongoing relationship with the client, we schedule a follow-up design review with them to clarify any issues, discuss new ideas and ensure their satisfaction with our services.
  3. Concept Design

    Concept design is made showing the customized designs for the products, fixing systems, and technical specifications needed to be built according to their project construction codes.
  4. Documentation

    The client receives documentation for the project, which includes design specifications, and physical models. Sample products are produced as well.
  5. Manufacture

    Façade systems are manufactured in Melbourne according to design documents after meeting the building code and engineering requirements.


Concept design phase - why it’s important

During the concept design phase, you're free to experiment with different materials, colors, shapes, and sizes. We use prototypes so we can test out the concept. Our prototypes are rough versions of the final products that allow us to evaluate whether or not the concepts are feasible.

Starting the concept design phase

Our design team works efficiently to ensure we're building something amazing for our clients. During the conceptual stages, we often create simple sketches where designers test different concepts until they find one that seems perfect.

During this stage, communication has to be open and clear. We need to know each other's needs and expectations. Finally, we need to stay up to date so that no major issues come up.

We start by going through the completion phase, which includes showing the clients the designs, discussing them, and making sure everything is clear before moving forward. Following this, the products are manufactured in Melbourne.
